Q: MY DOG IS FOOD AGGRESSIVE. HOW DO I STOP THAT?

A: I don’t know you, nor your dog, so more info would help…but regardless… in most of these cases it is us handlers who create this problem..and or allowing dog become having hobbies or doing bad things..

Well, with your “food aggression”, what you got to do is to make your dog understand that you are a pack leader and you also are an ultimate food source!.. So, skip day or two of feeding completely and then, take dog’s daily portion of food and hand feed him (few kibbles at the time until you feed him the whole daily portion). Make sure that no other animals are in presence. After several days of doing so (absolutely no other source of food allowed-backyard, other family members, etc.), you’ll bring your hand feeding to “his” bowl and while still hand feeding, you keep your hand in the bowl and start dropping kibbles in it, so he can get them (while your hand is there-in his way). If he is doing fine, next thing is that you put the daily portion of food in the bowl and with your hand in it, let him eat..You should be able to do so without a problem …problem solved.. Usually this happens because dog does not trust you and/or he is simply guarding his food. You want to make sure he understand that you decide when and how much he will eat…DO NOT HUMANIZE DOGS.. They are animals and you MUST follow nature’s rules, not THOSE CREATED BY OUR STUPID, MIND TWISTED SOCIETY! The whole dog training is based on these pillars-make it very clear, always black and white only, no grey areas and your dog will understand you without getting confusing message..

Q: WHAT IS DM (DEGENERATIVE MYELOPATHY)?

A: Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) is a spinal disease that typically onsets between ages 8-14 years old in dogs. Although not painful, DM effects the dog’s ability to walk and run. If left untreated side effects can worsen and spread throughout the body. For more information about DM please click HERE
